The first meeting of what was to become the LSA was called to order by Isaac F. Gorham on April 15th, 1886. The name "Leominster Sportsmen's Association" was officially adopted in 1902, and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1924. Today, over 120 years later, the Leominster Sportsmen's Association owns over 500 acres of land, much of it bordering the Leominster State Forest.
